Refunds and when a credit is locked

A credit is uncommitted until posts begin going out, and used once they do. Credits never expire. Here is where that line sits and what to do if a launch went wrong.

Credits are meant to be straightforward, and most of the time you will never think about this. But it helps to know the one line that matters: when a credit is still yours to use, and when it has been spent.

01 · The lineThe simple line

A credit is uncommitted until posts begin going out, and used once they do.

  • Buying a credit does not spend it. It sits in your balance.
  • Starting a launch spends the credit and builds your plan.
  • Once you begin shipping posts, the launch is underway and the credit is used.

Most of a launch is the work you do yourself, so the credit becoming committed lines up with you actually putting your product out into the world.

02 · No clockCredits never expire

There is no timer on a credit. One you buy today is just as good in three months. Nothing lapses, and you never lose a credit by waiting. Buy when you are ready, spend when you launch.

03 · Getting helpIf something went wrong

If a launch did not work as it should, we want to fix it. The most common case is a plan that failed to build, and the first thing to try is the Retry button on the launch, which re-runs the build at no extra cost.

If a retry does not help, or anything else about a launch or a purchase looks wrong, contact support with the details. We would much rather sort out a real problem than leave you stuck on a credit you could not use.

Scan before you spend

The surest way to avoid a wasted credit is to run the free readiness report first. It is unlimited and costs nothing, so you can get your page in shape before you commit a credit to launching it.
