The Reddit warm-up
A cold Reddit account makes a launch fragile. The warm-up gives you one small local Today plan for 28 days, with no product mentions and no automation.
Last updated July 16, 2026Reddit can send you real, engaged users faster than almost anywhere. It also filters accounts with little history, so a launch posted from a cold account can disappear before anyone sees it. The warm-up exists to build genuine participation ahead of time.
01 · The ideaWhat the warm-up is
The warm-up is a finite 28-day plan tied to one Reddit account. Nilkick assesses the public standing of the account up front, starts with the account and community setup the account actually needs, then prepares one small Today plan in your local timezone. It finds fresh threads where your knowledge can help, drafts value-only comments, and lets missed browsing or comment work expire instead of piling it into a risky catch-up batch.
It works two ways:
- Standalone. Tell Nilkick the topics you know, and it maps the communities from scratch.
- Linked to a launch. Link an existing Nilkick launch and the warm-up aims at the same future subreddits.
02 · Why botherWhy it works
Reddit rewards accounts that genuinely take part and distrusts accounts that show up only to promote. Karma, account age, conversation history, and community-specific rules are rough signals of that. The warm-up does not promise karma or immunity from moderation. It creates a careful routine for learning the communities and contributing where you have something real to add.
03 · The 28 daysA gradual, adaptive ramp
The first days are set by the standing Nilkick assesses before Day 1. A brand new account spends Days 1 and 2 on the basics (verify the email, add an avatar and agnostic bio, join communities, read rules) and sees no comment before Day 3. An account with real history confirms those basics instead, joins its communities within the first day or two, and can reach a careful first comment as early as Day 2. Whatever the entry, early plans expose at most one careful reply. Later plans may include a limited second reply only when standing and recent outcomes support it, and that second slot unlocks six hours after the first is posted.
Nilkick checks the linked account at phase boundaries and after reported removals. A removal pauses comments, excludes the affected subreddit, and leaves useful setup, reading, and browsing work available. Near the end, an established account may receive one optional genuine question post.
04 · Drafted by us, posted by youThe trust firewall
The warm-up never logs in to Reddit or takes an action for you. Nilkick drafts and guides. You read the context, edit when needed, decide whether the action fits, and take it on Reddit.
Comments are value-only by construction. The drafter receives your expertise but no product input, so it has nothing to promote. Every draft is checked again for links, brand recommendations, fabricated experience, pitch tone, and thread mismatch.
